Crown Paper Group names Colin Fernie as President
ATLANTA , May 12, 2015 (Press Release) -
Crown Paper Group, Inc. has named Colin Fernie as President - Crown Packaging Company. In this role, Mr. Fernie is responsible for the Crown Packaging plant and the Boxmaster packaging plant, both in Vancouver BC; and Distribution Centers in Kelowna, BC and Calgary, AB. He succeeds Joe Beers, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.
"Crown Packaging and Boxmaster are market-leading packaging businesses operating in strong Canadian packaging markets, and Colin Fernie has built multiple high performing businesses in the Canadian packaging market. He is a perfect fit for the business that Crown Paper Group is building," said Crown Paper Group CEO Steve Klinger.

Steve Klinger
Chief Executive Officer, Crown Paper Group
Mr. Klinger leads CPG business operations and serves as Affiliate partner of Lindsay Goldberg. Prior to developing Crown Paper group, Mr. Klinger served as Member of the Board of Directors of Smurfit-Stone Container and of Navistar International; CEO of K & S Atlanta Properties; President and COO of Smurfit-Stone Container; and Executive VP of Packaging, Pulp and Global Procurement for Georgia-Pacific. Mr. Klinger is a graduate of the Duke University Advanced Management Program and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Georgia State University.
Matt Denton

Mr. Denton leads finance, information technology, and procurement at companies owned by CPG. Prior to joining Crown Paper Group, he served as Managing Principal for Business Finance Results; Senior VP of Finance for RockTenn; Senior VP of Finance for Smurfit-Stone Container; and VP of Finance for Georgia-Pacific. In service to the industry, Mr. Denton serves as a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Denton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rutgers University.
Mike Exner
Board Advisor for Mill Operations, Crown Paper Group
Mr. Exner leads mill operations at companies owned by Crown Paper Group and serves as Affiliate Partner of Lindsay Goldberg. Prior to joining Crown Paper Group, Mr. Exner served as Senior VP of Containerboard at RockTenn; Senior VP of Manufacturing at Smurfit-Stone Container; and VP of Containerboard Manufacturing at International Paper. Mr. Exner earned a Master of Science Degree in Paper Science from the Institute of Paper Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Lawrence University.
Steve Strickland
Board Advisor for Sales Packaging, Crown Paper Group
Mr. Strickland leads sales and packaging plants of companies owned by CPG and serves as Affiliate Partner of Lindsay Goldberg. Prior to joining Crown Paper Group, Mr. Strickland served as Senior VP of Corrugated Container for RockTenn and of Smurfit-Stone Container; Senior VP of Packaging for the Unisource Division of Georgia-Pacific; and Vice President of National Sales for Georgia-Pacific. In service to the industry, Mr. Strickland served as a member of the Executive Committee of the American Forest and Paper Association and of the Fibre Box Association.
Carr Tyndall
Mill General Manager
Mr. Tyndall joined Port Townsend Paper Corporation in 2015. Prior to working at PTPC, Tyndall served as Plant Manager for KapStone Paper and Packaging at their Summerville, SC mill. Tyndall has an extensive background and over 30 years of experience with paper industry leaders such as Smurfit-Stone Container Corp, International Paper, and RockTenn Company. Tyndall earned a BS in Paper Science from North Carolina State University and an MBA from the University of Florida.
